A Timely Reminder

Weekly Faith Fuel - A Timely Reminder
Isaiah‬ ‭9:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬ "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
The times we live in are tumultuous and chaotic. People, even Christians, are being forced into a position where they are more politically-minded than God-minded. People are in a constant state of unease, anxiety, paranoia, and dread. All across the nation people are hoarding food, supplies, and weapons like it's the end of the world. It doesn't take a theology scholar to understand that this is wrong! I could go on a VERY long digression about the peace of God and how fear is from the devil, but I want to stay on track here (I encourage you to refresh yourself on it).
Let's get back to our passage today. These verses are speaking of Jesus, and his Kingdom. It makes it clear that the government of Jesus is ever-present and ever-expanding. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and he sits at God's right hand, far above all principalities, powers, mights, dominions, and every name that is named. He is in control! I understand that this election is an important one, as they all are, but let's remember who our source is (here's a hint: it's not the government). Does that mean God decides who gets put in office? No, that is decided by our votes. Can someone get into office whom God doesn't want? Absolutely. But we don't just live in the kingdom of America, we live in the Kingdom of Heaven! Jesus is our King! And we will be okay! Times may be hard, and the world may be an ugly place, but the children of the Father will be all right! There will be no end to His peace, order, and justice. I encourage you, whatever your political stance is, don't fall into the trap of dread that is being pushed on us. Trust in our King and let him take care of us.
Make this confession: "Jesus is King! He is my King and I put my trust in him! I will not fear what happens in the world because I know he's got me!"
Bless you, and have a great week!
