Don't Fear Their Faces!

Weekly Faith Fuel - Don't Fear Their Faces!
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:6-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.”

The fear of man is the number one reason why Christians don't hold to their standards when around worldly associates. It is also the number one reason people don't evangelize. People are afraid of being rejected, or mocked, or laughed at (which sadly does happen). And that fear will hold you back as long as you let it. In order to be an effective witness for Christ, you will have to get over the fear of being disliked. Thank God, we serve a Father that will deliver us! When you get a revelation of just how much God will help you stand firm, you will unlock a new level of boldness. However, one key to this is to get rid of any and all excuses. When you make excuses for not being the light in the darkness that God wants you to be, you are letting the devil win. Jeremiah tried to do this in our text above. Also consider Moses. God told him to speak to the Pharaoh, the highest authority in Egypt, and command him to let the Israelites go free. But Moses gave an excuse. He basically told God, "I can't do this even though you say I can." Pretty presumptuous of him to think he knew more than God! Thankfully, God made provision for Moses's insecurities. But I just wonder how much greater his anointing would've been if he had just said yes the first time.
I remember one time when I was working, I found out that one of my coworkers had developed a type of cancer in their body. Now, you have to understand, this work environment was totally worldly; mentioning God was a free ticket to being avoided. But I took this person aside and asked if I could pray for them, saying, "I really don't care if you don't believe in this, but I believe the Bible, and the Word says that believers will lay hands on the sick and the sick shall recover!" I ended up laying hands on them and praying for their healing, which I firmly believe they received! Did they think it was silly? Probably. But I was doing what Jesus told me to in the Word. You must get to a place where doing what the Word says is more important than being accepted by everyone. You might think, "they'll just think I'm crazy," or "they'll never listen to me," but God says that He will make provision. He will deliver you because He is with you.

Make this confession: "I am not afraid of people! I am not afraid of being disliked! I know that the Lord is with me, and I know that He will help me be a light!"
Bless you, and have a great week!
