Covered vs. Conquered

Weekly Faith Fuel - Covered vs. Conquered
Galatians 6:15 KJV "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature."
In the Old Testament up through most of the Gospels, the Israelites were under the Old Covenant, also called simply the Law. The state of being under the Law was sometimes referred to as "the circumcision", with everyone else (non-Jews) being "the uncircumcision". This covenant was a covering for people's unrighteousness, a temporary band-aid for an eternal issue, and it was based on people's works and sacrifices. Thankfully, God sent his only son to atone for mankind's sin and unrighteousness permanently!
Now in Galatians 6:15, it says that when you are in Christ (which means being born again), being under the Law or not doesn't make a difference; it doesn't accomplish anything. My point is this: nowadays, too many people are simply trying to cover their sins by doing good deeds. People believe that doing good things somehow makes the few bad things they do okay. They are acting like they are under a works-based system. But that is simply not true! No amount of "covering" yourself will make you holy in the sight of the Lord. As it says, the only thing that avails anything, the only thing that matters, is being a new creature! Let the Spirit that is inside you transform you! Renew your mind daily to the Word, and do not conform to the ways of this world (Romans 12:2)! Thank God, we are brand new creatures in Christ Jesus! We are no longer subject to the old son nature. Conquer your old ways, your old habits, and your old failings, and do not try to just "make up" for them. If you do this, the blessings of God will be able to operate in your life. God's favor will flow out on you abundantly! Conquer your sins, and you will conquer your life.
Make this your confession: "I am a new creature in Christ! The old me died, and the new me is alive in Christ! I don't have to try to cover up my sins, because Jesus conquered them already! Now I am free to live a holy life!"
Bless you, and have a great week!
